A clean home is a happy home

Have you just redecorated a room or maybe your whole house? If you have, there is one important thing you will want to do to keep your home looking its best - keep down the clutter. Home is where you can relax after a hard day at work, entertain friends and family and feel completely at ease because it is your space which makes it very easy to allow clutter to build up. Here are some tips to help you keep your home organised and mess free:

Try to do a little bit of tidying up everyday, not for hours but for ten minutes, its surprising how much you can achieve. Focus on a different part of your home everyday, doing this daily will keep any disorder to a manageable level.

There are some things which need cleaning everyday, kitchen worktops for example, but other jobs like vacuuming or dusting can be done a couple of times a week - try to pick a day to do these jobs and stick with it, this means dust and dirt wont be able to build up. If you have children who are old enough to take on some cleaning chores try to encourage them to help, this may even lead to them keeping tidy bedrooms (not guaranted though unfortunately)

When you bring a new item into your house look though your things to see if an item can be parted with to charity. A good example here is clothes shopping, if you have purchased some really nice new tops there's bound to be a couple that are looking a little worn that can go - not only are you keeping your items at a manageable level you're also keeping a good cause too.

Finally there are a few rules to keep in mind which will keep your home looking spick and span:

If it is rubbish, throw it away
If you get it out put it away afterwards
If it is full then empty it
If something is dirty wash it
If you open it make sure you close it
If you have finished it then replace it
If you take it off then hang it up

Use all these tips and you will keep your home looking tidy, clean and somewhere to be proud of.
