New trends for 2017

Happy New Year!!! I hope you all had a very happy Christmas and have started 2017 in good health. It is scary how quick the time goes, from lugging those decoration boxes out of the loft to then putting them away again in what feels like no time what so ever - but now the new year is here, it's time to look into some of the latest home interior trends for 2017:

Neon colours: the use of neon colours is expected to be on the rise this year but not as the main colour within the room; the way to use them is subtlety on details with neutral colour being the main focus.

Cork: a firm favourite back in the 70's, cork is now making a comeback. It is an eco friendly and highly underrated material and will be featured on many home accessories.

Multi-functional furniture: furniture that can adapt to different spaces within the home and cater for different uses is now a must have feature for the home.

Chandeliers: the chandelier still continues to be as popular as ever, used for both style and function.

Brass: 2016 saw that metallic finishes were hugely popular on home accessories, light fittings and tech gadgets and while this is expected to continue into 2017 the metal of choice is brass, replacing the preference of rose tinted copper.

Upholstered headboards: expected to be very popular this year, upholstered headboards give the look of a luxury hotel to the bedroom; adding colour and texture it is a simple update that can give a new look to your room.

Terracotta: described as one of the hottest trends for 2017, this natural stone of the past is making a big comeback.
