Making a splash in 2019

Happy New Year!! A fresh start to another year is the perfect time, and excuse, to freshen up your home and give it a new look by adding a splash a colour in strategic ways. Read on for my tips on how to update your home quickly and easily.......


Make a gallery wall: A gallery wall is the ultimate in mix and match wall decor. You can add different colour frames, bold prints and photographs or whatever you wish to display. See my previous blog post for styling tips here


Cushions and throws: Changing the cushions or throws on your sofa is an easy way of adding colour to your room. Floral prints are a big trend for 2019 so why not incorporate this into your scheme.

Use bold accessories: Colour can be easily added to any room through the use of accessories. Use lamps with bright decorative stands and shades, display vases and ornaments, hang decorative prints on the walls and swap plain towels for brightly coloured or patterned ones.


Feature wall: Sometimes painting a whole room in a bold colour can be too overpowering, instead choose one wall and paint it, turning it into the rooms focal point.

Statement Furniture: If you are brave with your design choices then why not try incorporating one or two pieces of brightly coloured furniture into a room. Sofa's and statement chairs are ideal for this.

Rugs: A good quality rug will provide warmth texture and comfort and adding one in a bold colour choice is a practical and stylish addition to a room.
